Here is an video entitled “The Navy’s Indoor Ocean” from a related post featuring “MASK, the maneuvering and seakeeping basin”, one of the largest indoor oceans in the world.

“We can actually do the kind of seas that are expected in the North Altlantic, in the South Pacific (…). It is not just some kind of generic sea condition, but the specifics of where they will be operating.”

How does it work? 216 individual finger-like paddles push on the water like piano keys and this creates different kinds of ocean waves.
