Waves

There are three types of waves:

  1. Mechanical waves, such as sound waves, water waves and seismic waves. They can be transferred only in a material medium such as air, water or rock.
  2. Electromagnetic waves such as visible light, UV light, radio and tv waves and microwaves. They do not require a medium, they can propagate through vaccum and their speed is 300m/s.
  3. Matter waves are associated with particles such electrons and protons.
